Anton Sinclair has been found dead by suicide. This remains of what was known of the high society hacker before he ended his own life. Perhaps it was his wife's death or to those who knew him, it might have been his situation which drove him over the edge. Regardless, both the media circus and those who knew him have their own ideas of why it happened.
R.I.P. Anton Sinclair.
- Lawrence Lessig
What those remember of Anton during the apex of his life, he was rarely out of a suit, typically in the latest fashion. He was in good shape and just under six feet tall with bright green eyes that showed a promising future. He kept his sandy blonde hair short, probably from his military background and despite the terrible limp he had, he bore it with grace and confidence. It was Anton as many of his family and closest friends and colleagues remember him.
A shadier truth exists, though, and towards the last days of his life, Anton couldn't afford to wear the suits he so loved and wore Good Will hand me downs to hide away from the cops. Who knows how this might have impacted his own mental stability? His appearance was important to him and it set a mood. Anton often said, "Looking good is the first step to feeling good."
At First Glance
There was just something about Anton which attracted people. He had been a natural leader and a charismatic man. He earned friends quickly and rarely had a negative comment made about him. Even people who didn't particularly like him found him to be charming and funny when the moment struck him.
Anton went to Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. After prep school, he joined the United States military and served for six years where he worked in Military Intelligence. He has degrees in Law and Information Technology, both from Harvard.
Anton was a legal advisor but he also claimed to have been a writer, though he hadn't written anything. At all. If one inquired about his novel, he would have said, "It's a work in progress." Most learned to just smile and nod whenever he answered and not to ask many questions. This, it has become apparent, was a cover for his true occupation as a hacker. While those companies he worked for claim they had no idea about this, it is not lie to say his job as Flux Maniac had been a successful one. More Information on the GNN Website.
After moving to New York City, Anton frequently spent time at both Hamilton's and the Cafe Bizarre. The counter-culture of the Village might have drawn him due to his true profession and that is what drew investigators there before he took his own life.
- William J. Perry
"Anton's death is a tragedy - a man I worked with, only briefly, yet I still feel the ache of his absence even now. While his distasteful arrogance may have led to his downfall, perhaps it is well deserved."
