From WoD Gotham
Below you will find a lovely list of some melee weapons available in World of Darkness: Gotham. Their relevant statistics and approximate pricing are made available to help you equip your character or do some brainstorming for gear ideas. You can click on any of the weapon names below to bring up a detailed view of the item in question.Note: That prices quoted are made to reflect a basic weapon grade instrument and not a replica, one made for display purposes only, or a cheap ass Walmart blade that was made in China (Like the kind that will only last for the first couple of uses and couldn't make it to see a 30-day warranty expiration on a good day.). Special modifications, enhancements, and ornamentation will adjust the prices and both STs and players should note that in their EQ tickets. Likewise, if you insist on a Walmart el-cheapo version of any weapon, expect stats to be adjusted at the Storytellers' discretion. Further, STs are required to take into account Resources ratings when determining accessibility to equipment. Players who stretch their characters too far financially will go into Debt.
Also, understand that carrying items of this nature, comes with some risks. Surprisingly, laws regulating the use of melee weapons can be harsher than local firearms regulations in some cases. So for your convenience, the following is a summary of the local melee weapons laws that your character should know:
New York | Summary: If it looks like a weapon, it's illegal. Max length: 6" Specifically Illegal: Switchblades and gravity knives unless hunting or fishing with permit Local Restrictions: NYC Weapons must be under 4" |
New Jersey | Summary: General folders are ok. Single-edged fixed blades vary. Max Length: Anyone under 18 may not possess knife with 5" or longer blade, or 10" or longer overall. No other apparent limitation except for in the case of convicted felons who may not carry any sort of weapon. Specifically Illegal: gravity knife, switchblade knife, dagger, dirk, stiletto, or ballistic knife "without any explainable lawful purpose". Manufacturers and sellers are not exempt. |
Connecticut | Summary: Generally the same as New York state. If it looks like a weapon and can be used as a weapon, it's illegal unless it's under 4 inches or if the blade is plainly being used for legitimate purposes. Max length: Cutting edge under 4 inches Specifically Illegal: Switchblades and gravity knives unless hunting or fishing with permit. |
